The ARES P was very popular with broadcast companies.

It is a high-quality, hand-held recorder that uses a memory card – PCMCIA cards – as a recording medium.

It was the hand-held partner of the ARES C recorder.

The VPA consists of a pair of mono block vacuum tube power amplifiers. Equipped with symmetrical and asymmetrical inputs, they offer a power output of 50 Watts through a pure class A output stage with no feedback. This unique product was made for the US army in partnership with Honeywell.

It was a data recorder with a special scanner. The tape was mounted on an air-cushion to reduce wear, as it ran at high speed.

The project was ended when Berlin Wall fell and the equipment was no longer required by the army.

The NAGRA IV-S is a portable stereo 6.35-mm (¼ inch) analogue audio tape recorder designed for high quality musical recording and for cinema and television applications.

The VPR-5 is a 1-inch C-format portable broadcast video recorder. Developed as a joint-venture with the AMPEX corporation of America it was introduced in 1983 as the world’s smallest, lightest broadcast quality portable video reorder.

First introduced in 1979, the TRVR is a two track analogue long duration recorder designed for logging purposes. It is designed to be mounted in standard 19″ rack units.

It featured different technical drawers that could be equipped with different recording and playback functions.

It was widely used in space and aircraft as well as in the automotive industries or science labs.

For example, you could slow down or accelerate the tape to record sub-sonic or ultra-sonic frequencies.

There are different accounts of the story of the NAGRAFAX.

Stefan Kudelski was an accomplished sailor who was once surprised by a storm in the Mediterranean sea.

At that time, although the weather forecast was broadcast, it seems it was not precise enough to predict local storms,

like the one found in the Agean sea around Greece.

Upon his return, Stefan Kudelski designed a FAX that could receive data from weather stations and print an accurate map that allowed sailor

to find the local weather conditions and sail to a safe haven if necessary.

The NAGRAFAX was a must for any sailing boat and larger commercial vessels. It was used until very recently.

The NAGRA E is a portable mono full track 6.35-mm (¼ inch) analogue audio tape recorder designed for radio reporters.

The IS was a little simpler than its siblings and was supposed to be operated by « non-technical » persons.

The Nagra IV-SJ was designer primarily for instrumentation and measurements and was was used extensively in the automotive, aircraft, space industries.

The NAGRA 4.2 is a portable mono full track 6.35-mm (¼ inch) analogue audio tape recorder designed for radio, cinema and television applications.

The Nagra IV family originated with the Nagra IV-L in 1968  and was followed by the Nagra 4.2 in 1972.

The NAGRA SN recorder, in spite of its small size, produces exceptionally high quality recordings.

Released in 1957, the Nagra III is in some respects the father of all other Nagras.

Following the breakthrough introduction of the Nagra I the previous year, the Nagra II is an elaborate version of its predecessor.

For the first time in Nagra history it features a level indicator with a needle that is the ancestor of the iconic « modulo meter », invented a few years later for the Nagra III.
