NAGRA IV-S
The first stereo analog recorder in Nagra’s range. An icon among sound recordists, film and record producers. The unique timbre of a Nagra IV-S is still unparalleled and demanding customers still use it today. The Nagra IV-S, introduced in 1971 is still a reference in sound quality, 50 years after its introduction. Its microphone preamplifiers, featuring 48 V phantom, are unique and offer a transparent and engaging sound that is still sought after. Whereas you do location sound or you are in a studio with two large condenser microphone, the IV-S will get the job done and create a memorable recording. Numerous films and music records were produced with a Nagra IV-S.
The Nagra IV-S can record in NAB or CCIR standard as well as Nagramaster at 15”/S. The Nagramaster is a unique analog processing that gave a few dB of signal to noise ratio. It was the preferred musical format to use as it outperforms the NAB or CCIR settings.
Equipped with the optional QGB tape extension, it could play 10.5” tapes to allow for a longer recording time.
The NAGRA IV-S is a portable stereo 6.35-mm (¼ inch) analogue audio tape recorder designed for high quality musical recording and for cinema and television applications.
